Yes– we hope you do! We envision our program as a collaborative effort between the teacher and AI. If you have a text, poem, syllabus, or list of terms that you’d like ClassGenius to use, select the “I have a text or list of terms ready to go.” on the app’s homepage. It will let you upload your own content and ClassGenius will generate an assessment specific to that content.

Absolutely! ClassGenius is an excellent resource for educators teaching language learners. Each assessment can be created in a wide range of languages, ranging from English to Spanish, Mandarin, French, Dutch, and many more, and adjusted for the skill level of your students. Language teachers tell us they love using ClassGenius to create vocabulary quizzes, classroom activities about cultural events, or reading comprehension assignments that incorporate specific vocabulary or focus on a unit's main theme.

We want you to use this in whatever way helps you most! Although the format is easiest for assignments and assessments, many teachers we've worked with have reported using it in class as a collaborative study guide or even a fun class competition, and many also use it for tutoring purposes, especially to assist struggling students with reading comprehension or to practice content retention.

Teachers are irreplaceable in the classroom. This is something our team has always deeply believed, and this was confirmed worldwide during the COVID19 pandemic. Students learn best when they are physically present in classrooms with talented, passionate teachers. We want technology to be seen as a tool, not a threat. We aim to use AI to cut down on the busy-work, not the teaching and face-to-face student interactions that make your career so rich and important. We understand the hesitancy, but hope AI can be seen the way other innovations that were first viewed as threats are now often viewed as intrinsic to learning.

Every educator right now is having to adjust in real-time to vast pedagogical changes. Many have forbidden the use of AI entirely. Yet we feel that AI can in fact be useful for students, too, as long as it is used responsibly-- just like the internet itself. We feel our program is an excellent way to model such responsible use to students. We recommend explaining clearly to students how you are using it, and assure them that the content uploaded is curated, edited, and checked by you. Just as many teachers borrow questions from each other, from online resources, or from exam books, collaboration with the AI can be seen as a valuable way to diversify a teacher's resources.

Our priority is to support teachers. At this time, we don’t have a student-facing portal. We allow teachers to export their assessments or assignments to their Google Drive for easy distribution through Google Classroom.
